The privatization of the game shows the true face of this government: conservative and reactionary

The Provincial Deputies Block Radical Civic Union of Entre Ríos once again strongly condemns the continued progress of the provincial government towards privatization of the game in our province. The signing of the contract between the IAFAS and a private company to install an infamous "e-casino" in Concepción the Uruguay configure a step in this perverse direction, showing the clearly the true face of this administration, conservative and reactionary.

First was the "law of tourism," denounce as a Trojan horse designed primarily to introduce a cheat window to the privatization of gambling. Unfortunately, we were right when we discussed the reasons to oppose this initiative. Then came, in the case of Concepción del Uruguay, Decree 3733, by which the executive said "provincial tourist attractions" a controversial bill introduced in the framework of the mechanism of "private initiative", whose presentation in society, much before the respective tender and award and even before the enactment of the so-called "tourism law" had assisted in an unusual attitude, the Mayor Bisogni, Lt. Governor and Governor Lauritto Urribarri. Obviously, the concocted "public bidding" only had the first mover. Let us remember that this unfortunate project beyond the privatization of the game that involves, will mean the loss to the town of precious property of the current Bus Station and the degradation of the market for 50 years on February 3, beautiful example of urban heritage , sentenced to become a decadent electronic casino, in addition to the transfer of the terminal to a location remote and undesirable from every point of view, which is a terrible deal for the municipal treasury and a great benefit to the company.
Despite numerous warnings from political, social and professional unions, including the serene and constant preaching of the Catholic Church, the government has made progress in this way that arouses such suspicion, and so on 27 December last year IAFAS directory issued Resolution 1551, which declared feasible proposal submitted by the company, without making any comment, and authorizes the Casino Management to sign the respective contract.
Installing a game room with a lot of electronic machines by no means something that the city of Concepción del Uruguay needs to boost its tourist appeal, as alleged misleading and shamelessly from government offices. Tourism experts have been inconclusive in this regard. On the contrary, this nonsense will only serve to deprive poor humble neighbors of the city and ultimately to absorb resources of the local economy. In addition, they degrade a central area of \u200b\u200bthe city, and - as in all the gaming experience in private hands - is a risk that it is accompanied by the evils that he usually favors, such as money laundering.
What's more, constitute a unfair competition to the official casino IAFAS, installed a few blocks away. We reject the absurd and incoherent arguments that account for the deficits of state-run casinos, which only constitute flagrant confessions of ineptitude and inaction by the current administration.
For these reasons, we urge the Executive to reverse this process of surrender and welcome the willingness of the Provincial Committee of our party strongly advise that radicalism in the government tests the legality and harmfulness of these processes and will make all means to promote administrative and judicial measures that reversed.
